Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Black & White Ball on March 2, 2013!
Please review the volunteer packet and complete and return the volunteer commitment form on page 4.
The 2013 Black & White Ball will take place at the Westin - Lombard on Saturday, March 2, 2013. More than 500 guests are expected to attend the black tie event and will include: corporate, sponsors, business and philanthropic leaders and guests. Attention to every detail of the guest experience is of the utmost importance and will be reflected in the training and roles for all volunteers at the Black & White Ball.
More than 80 volunteers are needed and we have something for everyone! Parking and refreshments will be provided. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact the Black & White Ball office at 630.932.1151 or by email at acsblackwhiteball@cancer.org.
Although the evening is black tie, we do not anticipate that all of our volunteers will have formal-wear. For ladies we suggest formal attire (floor length gown) or a black dress/black suit. For gentlemen, we recommend a black tux, black suit or black slacks and white shirt (no tie).
Set-up Volunteer (Casual)
Assist in the set-up process including décor, silent auction and general event needs.
Shift time: 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Registration Volunteer (Formal)
Welcome guests as they arrive and assist in the registration process. Computer skills required.
Shift time: 4:15 PM to 7:30 PM
Silent Auction Volunteer (Formal)
Monitor the silent auction area and encourage bidding on items.
Shift time: 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Greeter (Formal)
Welcome guests as they arrive at each area of the event.
Shift time: 4:45 PM to 7:30 PM
Check-Out Volunteer (Formal)
Assist in the check-out process as guests pay for items purchased. Computer skills required.
Shift time: 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Raffle Sales Volunteers (Formal)
High energy volunteers to interact with guests and sell raffle tickets during the pre-event reception.
Shift time: 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Table Hosts & Live Auction Volunteers (Formal)
During the evening program, greet guests and work with the auction team to facilitate the completion of reporting documents for winning bidders for the live auction portion of the evening.
Shift time: 5:45 PM to 11:00 PM
Departure Assistance Volunteer (Formal)
Assist in the silent auction check out process and/or distribute departure gifts to guests.
Shift time: 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM
